Well a lot has happened since my last post:
Moved (again)!
Finished a half marathon (barely).
Sandy has found a job (yeah)!
Thinking of going back to school (yikes)!
Found a new church (cool)! – not that there was anything wrong with the old one, it’s just a distance thing…
Hopefully more to come.

If you’ve never been to a drive-in, you should check out the Capri out in Coldwater, MI. For those of you in the Jackson/Adrian area, this is only about an hour drive. It’s well worth the trip…

I have a daughter who’s name is Sydney. Sydney will be 4 in August. Not a day passes that she amazes me. Anyone that comes within her general vicinity will get 2 things:
1. A “Hi”, “Hello” or “Hey”.
2. Followed by a “What’s your name?”.
We’re trying to break her of this habit, but it is amazing to see how many people actually respond. Just the other day at the beach as we were walking up to our car, this little girl comes out of the restroom and Sydney walks up to her and says, “Let me give you a hug” and they hugged and went their separate ways…
The other thing this does is force me to be socialable (which I’m not). Luckily I’m better at remembering peoples’ names than she is. So to Cindy, Dick, Judy, Evonne, Sydney, Mike and the many more people we’ve met on our excursions, “Hi!”.

I found Pandora on the net the other day. www.pandora.com It’s different from other sites I’ve seen based on the fact that it takes the artist information that you say you like and finds similar artists based on musical styling and not just genre. Check it out!

I’ve been seeing these signs on the side of the road and finally got my first two on Friday. That’s $15,000 I’ll be getting. I wonder who sends you the check? I’m hoping to get three more on Monday. I’ll be able to pay off one of my cars! Sweet!

I’ve updated my portfolio with some new stuff. Check it out!

I heard this morning that they’re giving away free gas in Warren, Michigan today. You can read the story here, if you’d like. I heard there were like 2000 cars lined up to get 10 gallons of gas for free. Sounds like a good place for the flying pig!

I was feeling very much like Mel Gibson this past Sunday. As the water was pouring into our basement, and Sandy worked feverishly to keep it mopped up, I was out in the heavy rain desperately trying to stop it from coming in. All I could think of was Mel Gibson in “The River”. I was finally able to block it up and the clean-up process began. I think we have it all set now. We’ll see next down-pour…
So my wife and I are watching “Extreme Home Makeover” last night and the team is building a house for a lady who has adopted a couple of kids that are HIV positive. The family has been discriminated against at times by different people and they’re just trying to help raise awareness about HIV.
At the same time the design time is building a new structure for a local camp called “Camp Heartland”. This camp is a place where HIV positive kids can come and have a good time and not worry about being judged. Towards the end of the show the campers always gather around a campfire to tell stories and remember those who were lost over the past year.
This girl stands, I believe her name was Leslie, she’s 17 and she begins to tell how her and her family were asked to leave the church that they were attending because the pastor didn’t think it would be a good idea if they continued to attend. Now I don’t know the other side of the story, but it’s statements like that, that destroy any positive things that the church is trying to accomplish.
Why would any church turn away any person, regardless of their situation? What’s the saying “Hate the sin, love the sinner”. Not that I even think that contracting a disease is a sin. Last time I checked we’re all sinners, so why should we get to pick and choose who attends our church? I seem to recall Jesus hanging out with the “lowest” people (beggars, theives, prostitutes). If memory serves me correctly, Jesus died on the cross for ALL of our sins, not just those that we believe should enter His “house”.

I had a great weekend. Here are some reasons why:
1. Bye Chris, Brandi, Maggie and Abigail. You’ll certainly be missed.
2. Walk-a-thon at CMU for PKU research and awareness. Those kids are awesome.
3. Dinner with some people we don’t hang out with much. Even if we were at the kid table.
4. Central Michigan University campus is beautiful. You should check it out!
5. I love sunny, warm weather. I need to get out of this state.
6. Being in the backyard with the kids!
7. My 3 year old can drive a Jeep.
8. Church unplugged!
9. Lots of walking and exercise.
10. Spending most of Saturday with just my wife!
